Amy's NYC Things to Do
Amy from MA
Its so heartening to hear of people planning to visit New York sometime. We go there several times a year to visit family, and try to enjoy the city in between family commitments. Here's a short list of websites of NY museums and attractions. I'm going to start with Uptown, and will get to Downtown another day. This listing is only a tiny fraction of the great things to do in New York. David, I'm sure you have lots to add to this!
In General - Walk around, and explore!
Get a Metro Card (at subway entrances there are machines) and take the buses and subways. Taxis can be fine, although the NY taxi drivers can rival the Italians.

Music - Blues
These are the bigger clubs that often have Blues performers. I've seen BB King at Blue Note. Also regular Blues nights at the smaller clubs. You can check the Village Voice newspaper listings. There are several excellent local radio stations that have Blues segments and list who's playing where - the Columbia University station, and also a public radio station in Newark.
