Often questions arise on our Slow Travel Talk forums regarding reviews on our site and others and whether or not they can be trusted. With the anonymity the Internet provides, it can be hard to discern genuine reviews from reviews which may be tainted either for better or worse.

At Slow Travel we carefully review and validate all submitted reviews before publishing them, especially those coming from travelers who do not participate in our forums. To add an extra level of credibility we have decided to identify reviewers who are members of our forums who:

have been registered on Slow Travel Talk for at least one year
regularly participate via posting and visitation
subscribe to our newsletter
have contributed articles, reviews or trip reports to our site.

In short, these are people with whom we have a relationship and who have been a part of our community for an extended period of time. We are calling these reviewers SlowTrav Contributor; reviews by these contributors will be identified by a title on our detailed review and, eventually, by this starburst in our review lists.

Currently we have about 190 “Contributors.” We will update this designation on a quarterly basis, as new members contribute. If you believe you should be considered for this title please feel free to contact us.
