What are SlowTrav Favorites?

SlowTrav Favorites are vacation rental agencies and properties selected as our favorites based upon reviews received and community experiences with the agency/owner. To become a SlowTrav Favorite each agency or property must have:

  • At least five positive reviews, at least one of them within the last 12 months.
  • At least one of those reviews must be from a SlowTrav Contributor. This ensures that the property has been visited and used by our most active members.
  • The agency/owner must have an advertising listing* with us.

These are a good shortlist to help you when searching because you know others already had positive experiences with them and that the agency/owner has a supports and has a relationship with SlowTrav.

*Why Must a SlowTrav Favorite Have an Advertisement?

For a several reasons:

  • It means that we have a "business relationship" with them.
  • We have current contact information and can email them with questions or if any problems arise.
  • They know about the website and want people from this community to book with them.
  • They support the website and what we do in the travel world.

An agency/owner cannot "purchase" favorite status by purchasing an Advertising Listing, but we require that they have an advertisment before we will consider them for a favorite.

How Long Does Favorite Status Last

Agencies/Owners may be removed from the list if we receive several "bad" reviews, if we are no longer receiving any current reviews for them, or if their advertisement with us lapses.
