Things I've Done

*Taught yourself an art from scratch (wax-resist painting on silk)

*Had food poisoning (lovely whole family experience as a child, while camping)
Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
*Seen the Mona Lisa in France
Slept on an overnight train
*Had a pillow fight
*Hitchhiked (Don;t tell my mother!)
*Taken a sick day when you’re not ill
*Built a snow fort
*Held a lamb (and tried hard to not think of lamb chops)
*Gone skinny dipping (what ever happened to that boy?)
*Been to a Broadway show in NY
Ran a Marathon
Been in three states at once (Tri-State Rock, in the Delaware River!)
Ridden in a gondola in Venice
*Seen a total eclipse
Hit a home run
*Been on a Cruise (Under family duress. Never again, unless its a very small boat)
Seen Niagara Falls in Person
*Visited the birthplace of your Ancestors (well, Israel!)
*Seen an Amish community
Taught yourself a new language (still learning Hebrew, still sound like a two year old with severe expressive language delay)
Had enough money to be truly satisfied
*Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
Gone rock climbing
*Seen Michelangelo’s David
*Sung karaoke (Let's never speak of it again,OK? It was for charity)
*Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant
Visited Africa
*Walked on a beach by moonlight
Been transported in an ambulance
Had your portrait painted
*Gone deep sea fishing (Never wnat to see another bluefish as long as I live)
*Seen the Sistine Chapel in person
*Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris
*Gone scuba diving or snorkeling (hate it--always feel like I'm not getting enough air)
*Kissed in the rain
*Played in the mud
Been to Grace Kelley’s grave in Monaco
*Gone to a drive-in
Been in a movie
Visited the Great Wall of China
*Started a business (ran a licensed family childcare for 6 years)
*Taken a martial arts class (does fencing count? I stunk, but it was very cool)
*Swam in the Mediterranean Sea (Turkey and Israel)
Visited Russia
*Served at a soup kitchen (several times a year)
*Sold Girl Scout cookies
*Gone whale watching
*Gotten flowers for no reason
*Donated blood, platelets or plasma
Gone sky diving
Visited a Nazi Concentration Camp
Bounced a check
*Saved a favorite childhood toy (Lamby!)
*Visited the Lincoln Memorial
*Eaten Caviar
*Pieced a quilt (part of a memorial quilt for a friend)
*Stood in Times Square
Toured the Everglades
Been fired from a job
Seen the Changing of the Guards in London
*Broken a bone (do toes count?)
*Been on a speeding motorcycle (never again)
*Seen the Grand Canyon in person (worth the trip)
Published a book
*Visited the Vatican
Bought a brand new car
*Walked in Jerusalem
*Had your picture in the newspaper
Read the entire Bible
*Visited the White House
Killed and prepared my own meat
*Had chickenpox
*Saved someone’s life (I never want to have to do the Heimlich ever again. Terrifying)
*Sat on a jury (a silly car accident that should never have gone to trial)
*Met someone famous (the grandfather of a child in my class was a Governor who ran for President. Oh, and Richard Simmons was on our flight from LA. I refused a hug.)
*Joined a book club (and quit when I stopped havig time for assigned reading outside of grad school)
*Lost a loved one (too many)
*Had a baby (twice)
Seen the Alamo in person
Swam in the Great Salt Lake
Been involved in a law suit
*Been stung by a bee

Cool list, Amy. How amazing you visited Paris seven times.

Was it Dukakis? Fun list to read. I hope you do get to Hawaii someday (soon)!

sooooo,maybe the 4 of us should start to plan that Hawaii trip - I'm about due to revisit some old haunts (they probably have hotels on them by now!)
As for sleeping on an overnight train.....I did it for you - never again unless it's the REAL Orient Express!
