Venice photos...3 of 3

Maria and I were walking around Canereggio and spotted this strange sight:

The dome of Madonna dell'Orto:

I just love how the shrines look well loved, even when the buildings are run down around them:

A couple views of the new bridge...it's modern look seems incredibly out of place to me:

Calle dei Assassini under a full moon...watch your back!

Me and the winged lion in Campo Manin:

Where the gondolas go to bed:

The glass shops were full of Christmas displays (why I didn't buy something for my tree, I don't know!):

LOL at Santa. Were they decorating early this year or do they just leave them up year round?!

That campanile photo is pure magic. Right time, right place to get that moon!

Great photo of you and the lion! I'm looking forward to seeing that new bridge in person. And I almost always come home with "buyer's remorse" about things I didn't buy (going to try to do better about that this year!).

Thanks so much - you really got some amazing views. Makes me so excited about taking photos in a few weeks!

The Santa shot is pretty funny!! I would love to have one of those glass ornaments also. I have never seen them while there in the summertime. Great photos!!

I know that lion well - I stayed next to Campo Manin for five days once. :)

I read on Slow Talk that a Hard Rock Cafe is opening in Venice, overlooking the gondola bedroom. I don't think it will be open yet when I'm there, but I'm curious to see where it's going to be exactly. Great location, I think!

Anne, I love the lion photo...and the moonlight photos...they're all great!

And I agree, the new bridge just doesn't seem right at all.

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Anne, I'm still catching up with all my fav bloggers and I love these photos! Thanks for posting them.

Kim:

Just catching up and wanted to say I love your photos. Did you do an album on Slow Photos too from the trip?

Anne:

Thanks everyone!

Kim - I haven't yet posted any on Slow Photos yet, but I will one of these days.
