A prayer

A friend at work sent this prayer to me this morning. I read it, got a little veklempt, and gave her a hug of thanks for making my day. :)

Of course I immediately had to share this lovely prayer with my best friend (who shall remain nameless for sake of privacy...lol) because the line "beautiful, classy and strong" was obviously written with her in mind, although I would also add amazing and full of grace. Just saying...

Now I pass it along to all of my wonderful blog friends, because don't we all like to feel that someone is thinking of us?!?! (I know it lifts me up and warms my heart to feel that way!)
Ti voglio bene ♥

Dear God:
The lady reading this is beautiful, classy and strong, and I love her. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most, and let her know when she walks with you, she will always be safe.

Here are some angel statues that came to mind as I thought about prayer...these are photos I took on our family trip in July 2007.

In the cemetary of St. Margaret's in Reydon, England (we attended a service here and then went to the Vicar's garden party...ok, I just like saying "we went to the Vicar's garden party")

In London, near Buckingham Palace:
(Is the sky not gloriously radiant in this photo? I love it.)

A very cute "statue" in Florence, posing in a niche near Porta San Niccolo (I think that's the name - base of the hill in the Oltrarno below Piazzale Michelangelo):

And now for something completely different...

I was singing along (top of my lungs, while cooking supper, what else is new?) with a Blue Rodeo song last night and singing the words: "my spirit's thawed and singing like the sun"...which is how I thought the song went since I first heard it years ago. But then I read the liner notes in the CD and found out the line is really "my spirit's falling, sinking like the sun". Ok, can I just say...bummer! How sad and depressing are those lyrics??? I am going to forget that I read said liner notes and stick to my happy words thank you very much! :)

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Anne, beautiful prayer. Thank you so much for passing it on. I love your angel photos (all four of them). And I also like your lyrics much better. I'll pretend you didn't read the liner notes too.

Have a great weekend Anne!

Anne:

Kathy, maybe if enough of people sing MY words, they will become THE words - I should start a petition! lol

Thanks for the prayer the angel photos, they are beautiful.

Anne:

Thanks Candi! The little angel at the end is my younger daughter, by the way. (I posted about her 13th birthday several days ago.) She looks a lot different now, doesn't she?

She sure has grown, Anne. She is such a beautiful girl.

Beautiful angel photos. Great photo of your daughter :)

Anne:

Thanks candi and girasoli, I sure think she's beautiful!!
