I came across a passage from Ecclesiastes (11:7) this evening, and found it quite wonderful. As usual, I looked up a few versions...they are all similar, but interesting variations in nuance.
Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun. (New Revised Standard Version)Oh, how sweet the light of day,
And how wonderful to live in the sunshine!
(The Message)Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.
(New Living Translation)Nothing on earth is more beautiful than the morning sun.
(Contemporary English Version)
Light really is sweet, isn't it? How would we ever survive our times of darkness if we didn't know the sun'll come out tomorrow?
Sometimes the light is that of sunrise or sunset, streaking the sky with glorious colour, or glowing with surprising beauty behind a bridge, or shipping cranes...

Sometimes it's a radiant beam shining through an opening and brightening an inner space, or breaking through a grey sky at unexpected moments...

Sometimes we don't see the source of light, but we know it's there from the shadows cast before us, and maybe we just need to wait for the light to move overhead and the shadows to shorten...
And then there is the best kind of light...the light that comes from within, that shines in our hearts when we behold the faces of our children...
The light that shines in our own faces when we are filled with love and laughter and joy of togetherness...
Light is sweet indeed...may it fill your soul and brighten your every day, my friends! ♥

Wow! LOVE these photos! I also enjoyed the passage. Light is indeed very important. I definitely felt the effect of no sun for weeks when living in Washington State and do much better when it is sunny outside. Great post!

thanks girasoli! I find the light of the sun so uplifting, as is the light beaming from my beautiful girls' faces. I see the forecast for my area is turning grey the next few days so I might have to keep checking back to this post to bask in the light of these photos :)
Have a wonderful day!!
