With the rose the butterfly's deep in love,
A thousand times hovering round;
But round himself, all tender like gold,
The sun's sweet ray is hovering found.
~Heinrich Heine, "New Spring"
"Just living is not enough," said the butterfly, "one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."
~Hans Christian Anderson

Thanks Annie :) It's funny, I didn't notice the butterfly shaped cloud when I took the photo, but after I downloaded it onto my laptop, the image jumped right out at me!

Hi Anne, what a great way to start my day! Beautiful photos and that is a really cool butterly cloud! Roses were my mom's most favourite flower, she grew them all over our yard. Your post made me think of her. Very beautiful images and quote.
Thank you for this wonderful post Anne and have a great day today!

Anne, that cloud photo with the butterfly is amazing. The fact that you didn't notice it initially and that it appeared later is an extra blessing. Here's another one. My mother loved butterflies. I'll have to blog about the significance to her and me and share that with you someday. Now that she has passed away and is in heaven everytime I see a butterfly I feel like it's a sign from mom saying "Hi", and reminding me that she's painfree, by God's side and in bliss." I loved your post, it was so uplifting for me. Thank you.

Kathy, a yard full of roses sounds delightful! I adore wild roses especially. We used to have a whole hedge of them at our old house. These are actually my neighbour's, but they are right between our houses, so I enjoy them as my own!
Barb, I would be honoured for you to share that story with me. And what a beautiful way to express the comfort of knowing your mom is now peaceful and painfree in God's care.
What an extraordinary coincidence that this entry reminded each of you of your mothers, and for different reasons. Thank you both for sharing. ♥
