Gratitude Friday...where to begin?

I recently found out about a wonderful idea of Diana Strinati Baur's called Gratitude Fridays. I found out about her idea through Sandra's and Nancy's blogs and thought how fantastic and uplifting, I must be part of this club! Diana challenges fellow bloggers to take a moment each Friday to say what we are grateful for, and to link back to her blog, where she will host a list of all those participating in The Gratitude Friday Club.

So here is my first Gratitude Friday entry...although I have so much to be grateful for, I hardly know where to start!

I am grateful...

...for my awesome husband and soulmate, Dave. Our 22nd anniversary is tomorrow and, after all these years, I think he knows me better than I do...he even understands my inner child moments! He gives me space, he holds me close, his presence makes me feel grounded and safe and unconditionally loved. (And he's really good to snuggle with when watching scary movies!)

...for my gorgeous, talented, amazing daughters, M and Sara. I am so proud of them both. ♥

...for my mom and my sister (but I need some updated photos, so they will reappear another Friday)

...for being surrounded by the glories of God's creation. Every day there is a fascinating new texture, a brilliant new shade of colour, a new sight, sound, feeling that uplifts my soul.
Yesterday, I was sitting in Grand Parade square in Halifax with Sara, and I looked up and saw this stunning contrast of light and dark, colour and pattern...

Sunset from my back deck last evening...

...for my wonderful best friend, Valerie. She is a kindred spirit who speaks the language of my soul, who shares my laughter and my tears, who inspires me to open myself to new possibilities, with whom I am utterly free to be me.

...for good times with old friends. Sandy and I only get together every couple years, but it always feels like we just saw each other the day before.

...for random sights that make me smile. Today's sight was Theodore Tugboat, who *lives* in Halifax Harbour.

...for funny little "just because" gifts. Like this recent one from Valerie, who said she couldn't resist, and which makes perfect sense in light of all the family stories I heard this summer ;)

Wonderful post,Anne.

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Anne, Happy 22nd Anniversary to you and Dave for tomorrow! Hope you have something very special planned but then again after I read your list, it seems that everyday is special.

I enjoyed reading your list. From your dear family and friends, special gifts, and beautiful sunsets to Theodore Tugboat. I love it!

Enjoy your special day tomorrow!

Thank you so much, Kathy, I truly am blessed by all that I have in my life. ♥

Dave and I rarely do anything in particular for our anniversary, but this year we are going on a double date with Valerie and Mark. I think it will be great fun!

Anne, that was a lovely post. I am really enjoying Gratitude Fridays!

Thanks Nancy. I'm glad Diana had the inspiration for GF, it really is a wonderful idea!

Love the idea of having a day to reflect on the things for which we're grateful (although I do a "generic" thank you Lord for my blessings every day).

Lovely photos with your better half, gorgeous daughters and best friends. You are truly blessed!

Yes, Maria, indeed I am!
