If we are peaceful,
if we are happy,
we can smile,
and everyone in our family,
our entire society,
will benefit from our peace.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
I am incredibly grateful to live in a country, like Canada, where it is easy to feel peaceful, to be happy, to smile. O how I wish the same for everyone in this precious world of ours...
Peace is not only better than war, but infinitely more arduous.
~ George Bernard Shaw
Let us not be afraid to walk the arduous path of peace...
If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
~ Mother Teresa
Let us be living reminders that we all belong to each other...
Let us join our voices and hearts and prayers together...Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

A wonderful thing to reflect upon . . . we sure could use more of it to go around these days. *sigh*

Wonderful post! I love those "Pace" flags that we see all over Italy. So beautiful.

Jerry, we sure could. Even here in Canada, where we are far from the war zones, we still have people being denied their full rights and freedoms.
Annie, I loved seeing those flags all over Florence and Venice last October! I joined the end of a peace parade in Florence one evening, it was very cool (although I really didn't know what they were saying!)

Beautiful post, Anne. It has been far too long since I've heard that song!

Sandra, we sang it in church last Christmas (or maybe the one before...man, time flies!!) My daughter's class sang it for their Christmas pageant the same year - I loved hearing her beautiful voice practicing all the time! :)

Wonderful post. I also loved that song. I am trying to remember now just when I first heard it. Cool pace photo. Love the quotes and poem.

Thanks girasoli, perhaps you heard it at a school pageant? I took that pace flag photo in Venice - I was on my way from the train station to meet Maria for the first time.

Thinking more about it now, I think WE must have sang it at our school in a pageant!
