March 25...on this day...

On this day in 1409...
"The Council of Pisa was an unrecognized ecumenical conference of the Catholic Church held in 1409 that attempted to end the Western Schism by deposing Benedict XIII and Gregory XII. Instead of ending the Western Schism, the Council elected a third papal claimant, Alexander V, who would be succeeded by John XXIII."

The wiki article also says this:
"The cardinals of the reigning pontiffs being greatly dissatisfied, both with the pusillanimity and nepotism of Gregory XII and the obstinacy and bad will of Benedict XIII, resolved to make use of a more efficacious means, namely a general council."
(Is that a fantastically descriptive sentence, or what? Oh words...I love them!)

On this day throughout the ages...
Oodles of people were born, I'll just highlight a few with Italian connections...

1347 – Catherine of Siena, saint (d. 1380).
1541 – Francesco I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany (d. 1587)
1767 – Joachim Murat, King of Naples (d. 1815)
1782 – Caroline Bonaparte, Queen of Naples (d. 1839)
1867 – Arturo Toscanini, Italian conductor, (d. 1957)
1910 – Magda Olivero, Italian soprano
1964 – Me! (I am sure I was Italian in a former life...)

March 25 Birthday Astrology

An Aries born on March 25 is naturally shy, even though they possess the ability to shine at any gathering. At times, they display strong social skills and may be the life of the party. But in reality these individuals draw strength from a rich and creative inner life.

Friends and Lovers

Given their emotional depth, it isn't unusual that March 25 people express much of their energy through relationships. They may have a great many social friends but few close ones. Although their love life is often turbulent, romance is always their primary form of experience. They are able to bring out the best qualities in a loved one.

Children and Family

March 25 individuals usually develop a social life outside of the family circle. However, they do not expect their children to follow in their footsteps. They much prefer championing independent-minded youngsters who have the determination to go their own way.

March 25 natives often flout conventional wisdom about health and fitness. They pride themselves on being able to get by with little sleep. They lead an active dream life and need to funnel their problems and stresses through dreaming.

Career and Finances

People born on this day have a strong desire to be famous. Since fame is not always possible, many of these individuals are satisfied with being widely known within a circle of colleagues.

Dreams and Goals

There are few goals that March 25 people cannot achieve. Goals take on the weight of a quest, and dreams become vivid and dramatic. They inspire others by the grandeur of their hopes and dreams.

Aries Information for March 25
You should embrace: Positive outflow, emotional resonance, being young at heart
You should avoid: Pessimism, looking backward instead of forward, being sullen

Hmm...much of that horoscope rings true, I have to say. Except for that young at heart thing. I'm way too mature for that...

Happy Birthday little sister! I have to agree with you that much of your horoscope does ring true, INCLUDING the young at heart thing!! The part that I thought wasn't a good fit was the getting by on little sleep thing.... But then again, I'm fondly remembering your teenage and young adult years. Sigh - such great times. Hope you have a perfect day; I know for sure that you'll enjoy lunch!

Thanks everyone! :) I am having a wonderful day!

(Lynn, I guess my irony didn't come across in my post - I don't actually feel mature at all!)
