I was checking out the photos on SlowTrav's Italy Photohunt 43 thread, and when I got to the following photo posted by teaberry of a ceramic shop in Deruta (I hope she doesn't mind me borrowing it)...

...I got all excited and rushed in to show Dave - LOOK!! Look at this photo, can you see it??! The vase on the left in the doorway looks like the very same pattern as some pieces of ceramic I bought a couple years ago in a HomeSense store here in Nova Scotia (and posted about here). How cool is that?? I know, it's probably just a really common pattern found everywhere, but I'm totally thrilled to see it in a real shop in Deruta. (Deruta is a town in Umbria...Italy, of course!)

That is cool! I remember when you found those amazing bargains at HomeSense. Italian pottery is so beautiful.

Wow you were so lucky to have found a Deruta piece so close to home. Really lucky!

Hi Anne, wow that is so cool. The design and pattern of the vase is very beautiful. How lucky that you were able to find some pieces with the same Deruta patterns and designs at home. Lucky you.
Thanks so much for sharing. Have a great day today.

Yikes! I'm trying hard to remind myself that I can't buy any new ceramics this year. But the colours and patterns are so tempting.....
