Old friends...

I took this picture one day in Halifax's Public Gardens. I have no idea who the two people are, I just saw them sitting there, with the beautiful spring green leaves draped down around them, and was moved to take a photo. They remind me of Simon & Garfunkel's song Old Friends:

The sounds of the city sifting through trees
Settle like dust on the shoulders of the old friends

Can you imagine us years from today,
Sharing a parkbench quietly

Hi Anne, that's a beautiful photo. It does look like two old friends sitting and enjoying a nice spring day together. I had not heard of the song before so I looked for it on Youtube. I can see now how your photo reminded you of that song. Pretty cool.

Thanks so much for sharing. Have a wonderful evening.

Beautiful! It almost looks like a watercolor rather than a photo and it goes perfectly with those lyrics. What a great sight to stumble across!

What a beautiful photo! You really captured the embodiment of nature and friendship. I love it!

I agree lovely photo and sentiments. It shows the joy and beauty of friendship.

What a great photo, Anne!

Thanks everyone :)

Sara is painting me a watercolour version of this photo, can't wait to see it!

Great photo, Anne! I agree - it does look like a watercolor painting.

I love this photo. It does look like a watercolor painting. I love how it lets your imagination tell a story.
