Interesting neighbors! You can find this shrine in Corte Nova in Castello, not far from Via Garibaldi.

I love the RED photos!! Sort of out of character for Venice.

Crikey, I love reading your blog! :)

Leslie, thanks so much!

Girasoli, I know what you mean. The image of Christ looks like it was painted yesterday unlike most shrines which are rather weather-beaten. I'd love to know which was there first....the shrine or the Communist Party office?

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Annie, Great photo! Interesting that they didn't go ahead and paint that whole side of the building, just the bottom half.

That's a great looking shrine. It even has a beautiful lace on there as well.

Enjoyed this entry too. :)

Hi Kathy, yes and that lace is so snow white and clean! Who takes care of these shrines? (I know I've asked that before!).

There's something ironic about having that shrine outside the Communist Party office, no?

Kim, yes!. It cracked me up when I saw it.

Love the colors, and LOVE that the shrine and the RC office are next to each other! Very cool.
