PhotoHunt: Emotion(s)

This week's theme is "Emotion(s)." I'm going with fear.

Ever wonder why we say "I'm chicken" when we're afraid to do something?

I was walking along and saw this guy out of the corner of my eye. At first, I thought it was a yard sculpture but then he moved, so I got out my camera and he kindly posed. He wasn't scared of me at all! And as I walked away, he cock-a-doodle-do'd.

There's another phrase used to describe someone experiencing fear - "scaredy cat." That one makes no sense...my cats aren't afraid of anything!

Happy weekend!

boy his eyes look so scared!

He's beautiful!

I've never figured out the "chicken" thing either... I used to work with chickens, and while they'd startle at nothing sometimes, they didn't seem particularly fearful... in fact, many times they seemed to me to be too unintelligent to startle when they SHOULD!

Why does the chicken cross the road?

Because there are paparazzi snapping pictures....

Haha...sorry I couldn't help it!

HAHA! Apparently, this chicken isn't acquainted with that "I'm chicken" phrase. *grin*

That is some emotion, alright.
Nice shot =)

I am so scared of chickens -birds...comes from childhood when rooster jumped on me and pecked the heck out of me.

Good shot. I am not sure roosters are easily scared. Rather they can scare an adult man.

Have a great weekend!

He's beautiful but from a distance. I don't like big birds, especially turkeys. Last week it was Girasoli's turkey PhotoHunt post, this week it's your chicken ...hmmmm

I cracked up when I read your description before seeing your photo. The last thing I expected was to see an actual "chicken" photo! Great choice!!

(check back to my photohunt again if you get a chance - I added more photos)

cool catch! great choice for this week theme... the degree of one’s emotions varies inversely with one’s knowledge of the facts… mine’s up too hope you can drop by...

Great photo Annie! You're so right about the chicken and scaredy cat thing. Lulu & little Maria are just too cool! :)

What gorgeous colours! I'm ok with chickens, but more than one goose terrorized me as a child. Those critters can be nasty!

Oh he's just gorgeous! :)
