Birds at the beach

210

It's pretty common to see dolphins swimming by at Topsail although I didn't see any this time (and I didn't get to see the turtles either), but there were lots of nice birds. I don't have a photo of the best bird sighting...I was sitting on the upper deck of the house and a big group of pelicans flew over in formation, very cool!

There was a large flock of black birds hanging out on the beach - I don't remember ever seeing them there before. I think this guy is kinda cute:

That is one of my all time favorite poems. It's his very best. :)

Hi Annie, beautiful photos of the ocean waves and the birds on the shore. I loved the quotes. There is definitely something very poetic about the sea.

I have been really enjoying learning about Topsail and seeing all your photos. Thanks so much for sharing this area with us.

Annie, I tried to post last night on your blog twice but I don't think it went through. Probably something I did. But I thought I'd mention it in case you see three posts from me.

Have a great weekend!

Leslie, I love that poem too.

Thanks Kathy! It was a short trip but was so much fun that I really wanted to blog about it.

It wasn't you - something was wrong with the comments last night and this morning. I got the email notification about your comment but could not get to the page to publish it. Seems to be working now but thanks for letting me know!

Amazing photos, Annie! Love the middle one with the bird taking a step.

I've read the first two quotes before and I really identify with the second one maybe because the first 29 years of my life were lived on an island and my house was a block from the beach.

Maria, I guess that explains why you don't like feeling land-locked. The ocean has alway been a vacation spot for me but I bet living right next to it for so many years really does make you miss it now.

You'll be seeing the sea very soon in Venice!

Wonderful bird photos! They are so cute!! I also love your quotes, especially the first one. I have always found peace when on a boat or standing at the edge of the ocean.
