PhotoHunt: Bridge(s)

photohunter7iq.png

This week's theme is "bridges."

Venice has almost 500 bridges so as you can imagine, I have quite a few photos that would work for this theme. In addition to photos of bridges themselves, I have tons of photos that I took while standing on a bridge. So it was a tough choice but I narrowed it down to these two.

Most of the bridges in Venice are made from brick and stone; this one has an angel on it:

A more unusual wrought-iron bridge. This bridge is pretty small but it cast some cool reflections that day:

Have a great weekend everyone and Happy PhotoHunting!

The theme is right up your alley this week. As it is up mine. I think the closest I'd get to Venice canals is by Vegas :(

The canal water on second photo is shimmering. So beautiful.

I love the second shot with all the reflections around. Truly beautiful :)

PC, your bridges are absolutely gorgeous!

And Criz Lai, your take on bridges is one of the funniest PhotoHunt posts ever. I loved it!

sandrac:

Annie, both photos are just lovely. I admire the way you've caught the angel relief on the top bridge, it's beautiful.

The second bridge looks so peaceful and the iron is unusual (I think) for Venice.

Annie,
As usual, gorgeous photos! I love the second photo, it is just so....Venice.

Those are both wonderful bridges. I like the angel on the first one and the reflection is so great on the second.

What a wonderful choice of bridges I love the second one, It may be small but I love the reflection. Happy weekend

Divine bridges! :)

liz:

Oh I WANT TO GO to Venice!

Beautiful photos!

Wow that is unique...I hope one day I can see Venice...Mine is up too.

ann:

Two great shots... especially love all the reflecting going on in the second one...

Lovely shots - the second one is especially nice. Sounds silly, but I'm surprised to discover that many of Venice's bridges are made from the humble red brick. Great blog, BTW.

Have a great weekend.

I want to visit Venice! It looks so romantic and wonderful. :)

Happy weekend!

Oh my goodness, what beautiful photos! I love this bridge! I am going to have to visit this some day! just gorgeous! My hunt is up, please come and visit soon!

That last one is superb.

500 bridges! Wow. You have a huge collection to pick from.
Venice is beautiful.

What lovely bridges. You are lucky to be in a place with such beauty surrounding you every day.

I'm really loving this week's hunt. I love Venice and I hope to visit the place one day. Happy Weekend!

Lovely photos. In which sestieri is the bridge with the angel? I'd like to see it next time I'm in Venice. Mine will be also of a bridge in Venice.

YTSL:

Even I who have not been to Venice know abouts it bridges (along with canals and glass) -- in particular, the Bridge of Sighs. :)

These are some of the most picturesque photos of bridges I have seen,

Very interesting photos. Great capture too.

jmb:

I could have used some from Venice too. There surely are lots of them. Lovely photo with the reflections.

Happy weekend to you Annie.

beautiful bridge pictures you got. i like the 2nd one with the water reflections.

both gorgeous shots...the 2nd photo is my favorite. i hope i'd get to walk on these bridges someday.

June:

Was this theme made for you or what! I too love the second shot...perspective, reflections, colors...everything!

I'd like to go to Venice sometime.

I played too :)

These are wonderful bridges. I love the second one with the reflecion in the water.
Happy weekend

Maria, the bridge with the angel is in Castello, close to the Arsenale.

That second photo is just amazing! I guess this particular photo hunt was not too hard :)

Anna:

This is amazing shots!
Great reflections in the water, the colours..
Lovley!

And my longing for Venice is only getting bigger... :)

Mine is up! Take a look!
Have a great weekend! :)

Love the reflection!

Eden:

WOW, I love the 2nd shot with the reflected images!

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Annie, I love your photo theme selections! It really amazes me how different each of the bridges are. I don't think I saw a bridge that looked exactly like another, but then I haven't seen all 500, (yet that is). :)

On the second photo I just love the colors of the building and leaves and the colors in the reflection. Very beautiful!

Have a great weekend too!

Such beautiful shots. I used Venice this week also, but your photos are much better.

Pat:

Great shots and Venice is certainly the place to be for bridges!

Happy Weekend.

Absolutely great bridge photos!

OK, Annie, that second one's a painting! I'm actually thinking about starting a series of watercolours of Venice and Florence this week...these photos give me even more inspiration to continue.
Gorgeous work!

I have updated the photo on my post to a daytime version. Come on by and see the exquisite detail.

I love how you found the angel on the first bridge. Beautiful photo. The second photos is amazing! LOVE the reflections and colors.

I wondered which of Venice's bridges you'd go with! Nice shots . . .

Beautiful bridges. I hope I get to visit Venice someday.

Love your photos! Especially the 2nd one. Great entry :)

They are both lovely especially the reflection on the second one.
