Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina when the Heels WIN IT ALL!
And it was so great that instead of a nail-biter, we got a nice relaxing old fashioned BLOW OUT of a game! What an awesome team. I'm so happy for those players.

Dancing in the Streets of Chapel Hill last night with 40,000 fellow Tar Heel fans
I was wishing that I had a blue wig. :)
There were all these news helicoptors flying over downtown Chapel Hill. I was standing on the deck of a bar on Franklin St watching the scene on TV.
Here's an aerial view of the celebration (snarfed this from local news website)

And just because this headline makes me laugh!
Archbishop of Constantinople Congratulates Obama for Picking the Heels
The party was still going strong when I left around 2 AM. I'm a bit sleep deprived right now, but so HAPPY!

Thanks everyone! We will be celebrating this for a while, and now that I've caught up on my sleep, I'm feeling great.
I just read an article that said that Obama did not watch the game (because of the time difference) but that he would be watching it on tape on Air Force One on his way home!

From the NY Times:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama has called University of North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams to congratulate the Tar Heels on their NCAA championship.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says Obama called Williams from Air Force One on Tuesday. Gibbs also says Obama thanked Williams for ''vindicating him in front of the entire country.'' Obama picked UNC to win the championship in his much-watched basketball bracket.
UNC on Monday defeated Michigan State, 89-72, to win the school's fifth NCAA basketball championship.
Gibbs says Obama looks forward to welcoming the entire UNC team to the White House soon.

Have you recovered yet? I loved seeing all the celebration photos. Congratulations again!
Figured Obama missed the game live. Cool that he will still get to watch it. Guess that is one of the perks flying on Air Force One.

Hi Girasoli, I think I've recovered. I guess it's old age but I've been crashing so early every night this week.
My friend and I were joking that it sure does take a lot of energy to win a National Championship, even for the fans!
I got my championship shirt yesterday - the same one that the players put on right after they won on Monday night with a big Carolina Blue "1" on it. I love it!
