I've never been one of those people frantically shopping and wrapping on Christmas Eve but boy, this has been such a busy December and I have so much to do to get ready. And now, we have snow in the forecast for this weekend. And it might be a lot of snow!
So anyway, I wanted to wish my blog friends Happy Holidays since I probably won't have time to blog for the next couple of weeks. Tidings of comfort and joy to all of you!

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas. Love the photo of the little Christmas tree! Did you see the snow pictures in Venice? I miss snow. Throw a snowball for me and stay warm. Good luck on your Christmas shopping. I still have a couple more people to shop for and no idea what to get.

Buon Natale! Hope you didn't get much snow-I've already shovelled 15 inches ... I may think seriously of moving - not to NC tho if you get snow too! m

Thanks so much to everyone for your comments.
That little blue tree in Venice reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree for some reason. I loved seeing the "Snow in Venice" photos on Slow Talk this weekend. I've had plenty of experience with acqua alta but none with snow and I'd love to be in Venice for it someday.
We didn't get as much snow here in NC as they had said we might but still, I was stuck at home from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. About 3-4 inches with some frozen sleet on top. Most of it melted today, thank goodness, and I was able to go to work at the cat refuge this afternoon. But I lost two prime shopping days so I'm still in catch-up mode!
Menehune. I know that it's nothing compared to what you guys up north have gotten and moving to NC would be an improvement for you, I think. So come on down!
Buon Natale!

Wonderful Photo!! I love the contrast of the laundry ... the day to day reality ... to that of the festive season... actually with much more day to day work for many. Precious.
Have a Merry Christmas Annie and all the very best in the New Year! 2010!! Yikes!

What a great photo! I'll have to post my photo from Venice of Santa hanging out the window.
We didn't get quite as much snow as called for here either, although was messy driving Sunday night. Beautiful carol sing with the snow falling all around though. Cold and windy, but still beautiful. The hot tea and cookies inside the sanctuary afterward helped warm us back up though! Wasn't at my church, it was an ecumenical service at the neighbourhood Roman Catholic church. But Valerie did the benediction and one of the scripture readings (she wasn't supposed to read scripture, but the Anglican clergy woman didn't show up...oh well!) I hadn't been in that particular church before, it was lovely...I should get out more! lol

Thanks Carol, you are right. There is a lot of day-to-day work involved in this so-called holiday! The week in between Christmas and New Year's is much more relaxing, thank goodness. Hope you have a good one.
Anne, carol singing with hot tea and cookies while the snow was falling sounds divine. And thanks for posting the crazy Venice Santa photo! Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
AnnaLivia, the photos I saw of the snow in Venice were amazing - they really got a lot! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday in Paris. Happy 2010 too!
