This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Anniversary."
This Venetian shrine commemorates some kind of anniversary but I have no idea what these dates mean.
Also, this month is my blog's third anniversary (or blogiversary, a funny word that actually made it into the dictionary, according to Google). To celebrate, I'm re-posting the first photo from my first post.

Happy Blogiversary!! :) The pics are great, and I am especially intrigued by the shrine. I wonder what the dates could signify? Makes a great contrast to the wall.

Hi Annie The B & B (it rather grandly calls itself a hotel)that we stay in is right next to the bridge where you took that last photo. Our church at home is All Saints and that canal is Ognisanti!

I have a photo of a capitello on Murano that says "Anno Mariano 1954" underneath it. A quick google and wiki tells me that 1954 was the first Marian year, and 1987 was the second.
There's quite a lot on wiki to read about it.
