Cappella Votiva

cappella votiva

I wish I knew more about this place especially whether or not it's ever open. This votive chapel is in Cannaregio on Calle del Forno, not far from the church of Santa Sofia. It was built in 1806 to house a miracle-working image of the Madonna and San Rocco that had been in a nearby street shrine. If anyone knows more, please let me know!

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Annie, what a quaint and charming chapel. It would be very cool to hear more about it and what's inside. Maybe something very special. . .

Kathy, I'd love to know if the miracle-working image is still inside. And what it is...a statue, a painting?

I was thinking that maybe I can ask someone at Santa Sofia next time I'm there.

Anne, how in heck do you find out so much about these places in Venice? And, then, how in heck do you keep it all straight in your mind! I wish you were here with me right now, to be my personal guide and fount of wisdom!

Yvonne, I wish I was there too!
