This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Drink."
A typical day of drinking in Venice~
Before dinner, enjoy a Spritz (recipe here).
There are several different versions, but the one in the photo contains prosecco wine, fizzy water, and a splash of Campari with lemon rind and a big green olive.
Vino with dinner~
After dinner, and instead of dessert, try a Sgroppino, a Venetian cocktail made of lemon gelato or sorbet, vodka, and prosecco. Tart, sweet, delicious.

Ohhh... they all look lovely Annie! Your photos of Venice continue to tempt... but I think I'll have to leave off visiting for another year as I got sticker shock upon seeing the prices of flights to Europe for this year. :S

Hi Annie, oooh now here's another wonderful reason why I love Venice...a special drink for every meal in the day. I've had vino and prosecco but have not had a spritz and that yummy looking Sgroppino. Definitely trying that on my next trip. Great photos and a very cool take on this week's theme.

Recipe for sgroppino from Tessa Kiros' "Venezia" (Food and Dreams):
200g lemon ice cream
4 tbspn chilled prosecco
2 tbspn chilled vodka.
Put all ingredients into a blender - whizz - pour into glasses - serve - enjoy!

I decided to make them a few years ago and discovered that lemon ice cream is impossible to find in NC, for some reason, and I ended up using lemon sorbet instead. Not quite as good as the ones I had in Venice, but still pretty tasty.
