This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Lights."
A few scenes from Venice...
A glass and light baptismal font in the Basilica dei Santi Maria e Donato on the island of Murano. This church, built in 1140, is one of the oldest in the lagoon, and the font is modern. I like the contrast.
Another glass and light display, this one is at the San Marco vaporetto (water bus) stop. Gave off some wild looking blue reflections~
Here's an example of what natural light can do to the surface of the canals~
Thanks for visiting and happy holidays! You can find more photohunters and see a list of upcoming themes here.

Hi Annie, love your photo collection for this week's theme. The baptismal is really beautiful. Would you believe I have never seen that display at the San Marco stop at night. I wish I had now because the light effect really makes a big difference. It's wonderful. And I love the natural light on the lagoon. Almost looks like a modern art painting.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

All three photos are great, Annie! The Venetian tourism board should hire you -- or reward you in some way! :)

Hi Annie, thanks for your note :), I hope you are enjoying your holidays too! I bet your nephews were excited for Christmas!! I miss being active in our blogging community, must say. I *hope* to find more time for blogging in the new year, or at least posting something on a more regular basis, even if it is just a photo or a meme or whatever, just to stay in touch with everyone.
I am loving being back at school, intense though it is. I have a field placement starting in January at a local church (not my home church though, they don't place students with their home congregations...would be too weird!)
Hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year!!
