This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Joy."
There's so much amazing architecture in Venice, palaces and churches that I love to see. But it also brings me joy to find these charming little neighborhoods, especially when they have a happy and colorful shrine like this one, dedicated to San Antonio (St. Anthony of Padua).
Thanks for visiting! You can find more photohunters and see a list of upcoming themes on Gattina's website here.

Hi Annie, this place is so cool. I love the bright colors of the flowers and shrine. Even the umbrella matches the color scheme. Seeing this wonderful neighborhood would make me smile and bring me a lot of joy.
Thanks so much for this feel good post. Have an awesome weekend.

Hi Annie --
One of the things I really like about your Venice photos (and writings) is to see how you really look to have found time to smell the roses in -- and notice the small details and aspects of -- Venice. Put another way: Your views of Venice are so not obviously/"quick and dirty" touristy -- and so much the better for it. :)

I love that place!! I went there again in October and spoke with one of the residents. Very friendly! There is a rental for tourists in that corte. I hope to stay there one day : )
Have a nice weekend!

I agree entirely. Sometimes the little things you notice bring as much joy as the famous tourist sights. Gorgeous!

What an enJOYable area of Venice, a place at the top of our travel list. It will be fun to try to find places like this when we get there, next year if not this year.
