S is for Stainless Steel

I had a blast visiting the New Orleans Museum of Art last year and especially enjoyed The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. What a beautiful setting for an amazing collection.

One of my favorite works was this sculpture made of stainless steel~

NOLA 600

The flat sides were just like mirrors, very cool~

NOLA 601

But the concave side was even cooler - wild and swirly! So much fun to photograph this piece.

Love the wiggles and swirls too.
I do really like the oblong chunk of stainless steel. The reflections are awesome.

Hi Annie, very cool sculptures and a great take and choice for this week's letter. I really like the flat part a lot because it almost blends in with the surrounding. The Conclave part is also fun and interactive. Wonderful photos.

Have a great evening.

Stainless Steel sculptures and their reflections make Stunning photographs. What a fun post!

Wow-those are some super cool stainless steel sculptures!

He does such wonderful work. I loved his installation in San Giorgio Maggiore, during the past Venice Art Biennale.

Oh, that's gorgeous.

Cool sculptures, great shots with fantastic reflections. The last one is awesome!

You beat me to it Yvonne. Ascension was magical. I love Anish Kapoor's work although I'm not sure about the tower he's built for this year's London Olympics.

Andrew and Yvonne, that's great that you both were able to see Ascension. I wish I could have seen it.

Andrew, I just googled to see the Olympic Tower. I'm not sure either but would like to get a better look when they show it on TV.

Pretty neat!

Very cool, Annie. Anish Kapoor has also designed some very funky coffee cups for Illy (they've snagged some very interesting designers to do real collectors' items.)
