A few months ago, I spent the day in Winston-Salem, NC. Like many cities in North Carolina, Winston-Salem is in the midst of a downtown urban renewal program. I love seeing cities like this coming back to life. Winston's downtown arts district has lots of galleries and murals on every block. It was fun to walk around and see it all. I love public art!
This was my favorite. Love the colors, love the way the bird is flying through that door.
Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend. If you're in the midst of this heat wave, keep cool and drink lots of water!

The street art is so beautiful! We don't have such beautiful graffiti in Singapore because it is considered vandalism. :P

Fantastic street art. I hope we all make it through the heat wave in central NC. Thank goodness for air conditioning but I worry about people without. Stay cool!

isn't it very interesting? cities are embracing mural/street art/graffiti.
recently went to eureka, california and they have a do it yourself mural tour. you can even dwnld the information and you just drive from one spot to another.

Hi Annie, what a wonderful photo collection. I love street art too. I think the 2nd and 3rd one is really cool and I love how you captured those two guys sitting in front of the mural. It's like they are a part of the story....
Have an awesome weekend!

This is very cool art work. And so much more interesting than some of the 'wall' art in my town. They decided to do murals which I am finding pretty boring. But these in WS are excellent

I hope that the urban renewal is making the area livelier and safer as well as more colorful. :)
