Getting Together With the Granddarling...

Ready to go to Paris...

23 days until we leave!
London and Paris...in 23 days.
Thank goodness I've been doing lots of pre-planning! This trip is coming up so fast...I didn't realize it until tonight when I looked at the calendar and actually counted the days.

The granddarling came here tonight to chat about this trip and to pick up the duotang of information that I've created for her, as well as her plane and train tickets.
She is so excited about this trip!
That's a treat for me, because it makes it ever so much more special to travel with someone who is coming apart at the seams in anticipation of the trip.

We are making absolutely no definite plans to do anything while we are traveling...just letting it shake out any old way at all. We talked tonight about the importance of waking up when we wake up and going to bed when we are sleepy, eating when we are hungry and sitting down for a rest when we are tired of walking. Sounds like a perfect trip to me!

She told me something tonight that I didn't know...she's looking forward to this trip so much because we are going to London and Paris...and because she will get to spend a lot of time with me. That is such a blessing, such an honour...to have a granddaughter who wants to hang out with her grandma.
Amazing, simply amazing!
Any wonder I love her so much?

Brenda, I'm so excited for you. This is going to be so wonderful for both you and your grand-daughter. How is your ankle by the way?
Take care and include us in on as much of the pre-trip talk as possible. I love it.

I'll be happy to post as we go along, and I'm going to post and blog from London and Paris, as much as possible.
Thanks for asking about my cranky ankle...it's about 80% better, a slow process, for sure. Still gets swollen at the end of the day and the circulation is not great yet, but it continues to improve.

I am so excited for your trip. I haven't been to Paris in years... but London is my city. (along with Florence, Rome...)
Y'all have fun.

Thank you!
I am so looking forward to this trip, so it is a huge gift for me to be planning this and to realize that we are actually going in less than 3 weeks. Amazing!
I'll be posting and blogging along the way, so that will keep me in contact with y'all!

I just discovered your blog, didn't know you had started it. You are a very good writer and I'm so looking forward to reading about your Parisian adventures with your granddaughter!

I'm so excited for you, the anticipation before a trip is almost as delicious as the trip itself. There's still so many possibilities ahead to dream about. Making them happen is the only thing better!

You are so lucky to be sharing this trip with your granddaugher (and she is so lucky to have you as a grandma!). Grandchildren are indeed a special blessing to us to remind us of everything that is good and kind and sweet in this world.

Have a wonderful, wonderful trip.....JO

Hi, Jo,
Thanks so much for your kind words! I've been blogging for a few years, but more seriously in the past year.

Before that it was kind of hit and miss, but since I bought my laptop, I'm pretty faithful with it.
I think it will be fantastic for traveling , because I can write my trip report as I blog.

I will blog as much as I can while I'm away...you are my role model! I gotta go some to keep up to your blog from Paris that I loved so much...it was such a treat to read it daily...thanks so much for taking the time to do that, Jo!

You and your granddaughter are going to have such a wonderful trip! I'm looking forward to reading your blogs along the way.

Thank you so much, Sandra!
I'm sorry for not posting this before, I just discovered a whole stack of unpublished comments that are tucked into a separate section on my blog. What the heck is that all about?
Hope your trip is going fantastically!

How exciting that your dates are getting so close! And it is wonderful that your granddaughter is looking forward to your time together. You are indeed blessed to have such a close bond.
I love the planning time too. It's so much fun dreaming of all the possibilities (even though, in my case, most will not become reality because I'll spend so much time just wandering around!)

Thank you, Anne, for your lovely words...
I am blessed for sure!
