This week's Photohunt is...Nautical.

That subject makes me think, which isn't a bad thing at all!
Let's try these...

My very first look at Venice, taken from the train as we approach this luscious city...

A bit of a stretch, maybe...a canal in Venice and a water taxi speeding by...is this really a nautical image?

A boat ride back from Spirit Island on Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park. I love riding in the spray on the back of the cruise boat that takes us across the lake and miles back into the back country...the water's emerald, cobalt and teal colours are created by the glacial silt that washes down the mountainsides from the many glaciers in this area. Maligne Lake is glacial-fed.

I love water.
I love the colours of water and the icy feel of the mist on my face from the wake of the boat.
I love painting water, everchanging and difficult to capture in an watercolour painting.

"Greatness is not where we stand, but in what direction we are moving....we must sail,
sometimes with the wind, sometimes against it, but sail we must, and not drift nor lie at anchor."
~ Oliver Wendell Holmes

Nice to hear from you! I miss seeing you on the message board...:-(

Thank you for your kind words...I love the photo of my boat trip back from Maligne Lake, because it reminds me of that day. Isn't that why we take SO many photos? To try to hold onto the memory...

It's so nice to know that people read and enjoy what I write! :-)

Gorgeous photos, Brenda! All three have something special. Love the last one; you look so happy and serene

Gorgeous photos! I especially like the one of you looking so happy.

Wow these are beautiful Brenda! I especially love the last one. The blue is amazing!

Thank you for your comments! I was very happy and relaxed on the boat cruise back from Maligne Lake, because it is so spectacular to be there. Amazing...

Thank you for your kind words! Happy would be the exact state of mind I was in...that's a lovely afternoon's trip, and I take it any time I can.

Thanks so much!
The colour of the water is incredible...azure blue, deep teal and aqua blue-green, emerald green...it is caused by the glacial silt deposited in the lake from the glaciers in the surrounding mountain range.
