American Idol is cutting the class down to five this week.
Matt Giraud scored the save last week but that only means that two people go home tomorrow.
So, here we go...
Lil Rounds is belting out a Chaka Kahn classic, I'm Every Woman.
Where did the real Lil Rounds go, for goodness sake?
She was a stunning singer when she auditioned and I loved her.
It seems like she's lost herself in the process of the competition.
She's going home.
Next up to the stage is Kris Allen.
He's chosen She Works Hard For the Money.
Not sure I understood why he chose a Donna Summer song, but, hey!
He's chosen a funky song, with a rounded-up arrangement, so we'll see.
A great vocalist, and I felt like he did a complete reversal of this song.
Good one, Kris! Good one.
Earth Wind and Fire...Danny chose Dancing in September.
He did a smashing job of it!
I totally loved it.
Paula said it.
I also liked his 'hand heart' at the end, a tribute to his beloved Sophie and the foundation he's started in her memory. Nice touch from a nice man.
Now we take a listen to Allison.
It's commercial time and I'm sitting here, hoping she tones down her loud and harsh wardrobe.
I want to hear her sing.
I do not want to be distracted by whatever loud and clash-y things she's wearing.
Here's her choice...Donna Summer's Hot Stuff.
Yeah, she's listened to someone!
She looks great!
The vocals aren't my cup of tea, but I think she did a good job tonight!
AND, I could hear her this time, over top of the noise of her clothing that usually drowns out her voice.
Adam's up next.
I expect a diverse performance and wide-ranging vocal performance. Let's see if I'm right!
He's likely going to blow them all out of the water.
Are you ready?
An impeccable performance, emotion and intricately detailed and stitched through and around each and every word.
There are no words...this boy's got it, but good!
Matt sings now.
I have my fingers crossed for him, because he's been rocky for the last few weeks.
Stayin' Alive. Perfect choice for him.
He gets to play with the vocals, rippling up and down the scale.
I loved it!
Good movement, excellent phrasing.
Simon hated it.
Anoop looks spectacular.
Nice threads, AnoopDawg!
Nice little 3 day stubble trimmed to a knife's edge.
Can he sing to save himself from going home?
And, he can!
A great job of an old disco classic, Dim All the Lights.
Fantastic job, fantastic.
Going home tomorrow?
Lil and Kris, for my money.
It's the end of the road for both of them.
Stay tuned for tomorrow night!
We're going down to the top five.
Just a question...did Simon take his nasty pills tonight?
Is he PMS'ing, just a teensy bit?
A little Midol would calm him down.
See you tomorrow night for the results!
