When I saw the theme for this week's photohunt, bridges, I immediately thought of Venice, and the many bridges photos we have. But then browsing my photos, I thought I'll go with something less famous, and more understated.: Bump Bridge in Campton, New Hampshire.

Bump Bridge is one of many NH covered bridges, in fact it has a NH number 43. At one time the bridge was known as the Webber Bridge. The current structure was built in 1972.
I absolutely love the sign posted on the top of the bridge:

People actually drive on the bridge? Goodness... I have the "fear factor" feeling of that experience might be akin to riding on a wooden rollercoaster! :O

What a lovely bridge - I'm so glad you decided to post it! I've only ever seen covered bridges on films, and I've always wanted to cross one.

I love covered bridges, but haven't seen many. Nice photo of this one, and you're right, that's a great sign.

Hi Candi, great photo theme selection! I enjoyed reading the link explaining the history behind it's construction.
And I can't help but notice the pretty surroundings too! Very nice. And I love that sign too! :)
Have a great weekend!

I do love the covered wooden bridges! Sadly, they are a dying breed.

Great photos. The first one doesn't look stable enough, but I am sure it is. My post is up, come on by.

Love the sign.
I went for Italy, for the bridge theme, and I'm glad someone else had a new take.

I am fond of covered bridges. We don't have those in my part of the world. I also love the quaintness of New Hampshire. Great shot and I bet the view on that bridge is beautiful.
Thanks for visiting mine! :-)
