PhotoHunt: triangle(s)

photohunter7iq.png

The theme for this week's photohunt is triangle(s).

I am sharing a photo of one of the many beautiful and awe inspiring churches in my favorite city in the world, Rome.

Church%202.JPG

Santa Maria di Perpetuo Soccorso was built in 1855-1858 and restored in 1958.
I love the facade of this church, and there are many triangles.

Many of you have heard about the tragedy that hit L'Aquila, in the Abruzzo region in Italy on Monday. The earthquake has left many homeless, injured and killed, plus a lot of destruction to the town.It will take a long time for the affected people to recover from this disaster. If you would like to help, NIAF/Abruzzo Relief Fund is accepting donations. And lets remember to keep the victims and their families in our prayers.

Happy weekend and holidays to all.

Great minds think alike, we both found triangles in Italian churches! Yours is a beauty.

That's a beautiful Church and great triangle for the theme.

I'm sorry about the earthquake. Terrible when something like that happens.

I hope you have a great weekend.

What a beautiful architectural structure. Did I see some parts painted in gold as well? :)

sandrac:

Lovely photo, Candi, and a timely reminder not to forget those suffering in L'Aquila.

Wonderful architecture. I can see a lot of triangles.

Great post for the theme!

I've got mine up now, too - another angle, if you will - do stop by if you can, and yes, our prayers are with the people of Abruzzo.

I didn't get to Rome when I went to Italy, and it was long before digital cameras... I truly wish I had owned a digital when I spent a month in and around Florence...

i love the architecture of the building. awesome.

what amazes me with Europe's churches is that each one has a different character.

Eden:

Very nice. Mine is up too.

Happy Easter.

I just love old churches. This is a lovely photo :)

Lovely. And a perfect name to go along with the relief fund link.

When I was in Morocco recently my friend told me she would never go to Rome with me because I would never stop taking photos of cats. :)

YTSL:

That's a newer church than I expect to see of an Italian one -- beautiful all the same though!

Wonderful photo - I'm looking forward to going back to Rome later this yaer. :)

Lovely looking church with triangles within the structure that hits the theme well this week :)

Hi Candi, that is a beautiful looking church and a great choice for this week's Photohunt theme!

Thank you for the reminder of the L'Aquila earthquake so we can all keep those affected in our thoughts.

This is a beautiful shot, I love architecture. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed Easter.

Mojo:

Tremendous shot, with or without the triangular theme.

Spiritual as well as physical triangles.

Wonderful picture. It does have a great facade and several nice triangles.

What an interesting life you lead! I have perused your blog. You are Palestinian Christian? And you travel-- how wonderful! I wish you well.

Your photo for this week is very good. I hope you have a chance to see mine.

Great shot - I had no idea that there were such 'modern' churches in Rome! *smile*

Love your take on this weeks theme. Great photo too! This is a place I would love to visit one day.

I found it hard to find triangles in my house this week but I did finally find some.

Mine's up and ready...come on over!

june:

Nice choice for the theme!

Beautiful church. Don't think I have seen this one. What part of Rome? Great choice for the theme this week :)

Thanks all for the comments.
I have never actually planned on visiting this church, or heard of it before I just happen to stumble upon it one day. It stands out, like some of you commented, it is very new for Roman Churches, and truly looks beautiful. It has the original icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

girasoli, it is south of Maria Maggiore(couple miles or so)near the Vittorio Metro stop.

great picture and that's a good way of helping them out by providing the link. someday I will go visit rome.

thanks for visiting my PH!
happy easter!

Now that is a beautiful church. :)

Thanks for visiting my photohunt!

Lovely church and so different, architecturally speaking, from most of the churches I've seen in Rome.
