The theme for this week's photohunt is tied.

These colorful wooden buoys tied to the sides of this lobster restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine are cute, but they are only a decorative display. In a more practical sense, distinctive buoys are tied to lobster traps by lobstermen to recognize their catch.

Happy weekend all!

What a cool idea to decorate the side of the building and a great idea for the theme. Happy weekend.

Cool pics! Thanks for sharing shots of scenes I otherwise would never get to see -- living as I do across many lands and seas. :)

Hi Candi, cool photos and great selections for this week's theme. They do look very decorative on the building like that. And how interesting to learn how they are used. I guess it would be hard to take someone elses catch with these colorful buoys so visible.
Have a wonderful weekend!

A great choice for the theme. My first thought was for something nautical but I'm so far from the ocean I couldn't get anything like that.

Very cool. I learned a little something too. It never occured to me that they mark their traps with distinctive buoys.

They make of a distinctive display all right. No way you'd see anything like that around here. Deer heads, yes. Lobster buoys - no way.

Knew that was Maine before I even read your description. LOVE the photo!! I always thought it was so cool seeing the buoys hanging on the buildings like that. Great take on the theme.
How's the weather in Florida? It is still HOT and humid here.
