PhotoHunt: broken

photohunter7iq.png

The theme for this week's photohunt is broken.

I thought I'll continue blogging about our visit to Arches National Park last September (shouldn't I be done already?)Here is a photo of broken tree branches n front of Skyline Arch.

Skyline Arch (the only one sitting on the skyline and hence the name) is a spectacular arch that can be reached in an easy short hike from the parking lot. A well-defined, pretty flat trail takes you right in front of the awe-inspiring arch, allowing you to experience the arch closely. In 1940, a big chunk of the arch fell and almost doubled the size of the arch opening. Fascinating nature!

"shouldn't I be done already?"

NO!!!! Absolutely not, you just keep on blogging about this amazing place! I LOVE that first photo of the tree against the Skyline Arch, there is something haunting and ethereal about that image. (Any chance you'll email me a larger version so I can have it as my wallpaper??)

And thanks for your comment on my potential foray into ministry, I am very excited! :)

Love these gorgeous photos. That is such a wonderful shade of red in those rocks. Have a great weekend!

I'm glad you are continuing to blog about this amazing place. Great shots and they work so well for the theme.

Anne, you got it! I'll e-mail it to you right now:)

I can see how one could go super shutter-happy in that national park... ;b

happy Valentine's Day!

Someone was just telling me about Arches National Park yesterday and I thought of you. Beautiful! I must put that on my destination list.

amazing and beautiful! thanks for sharing.

I'm glad I wasn't there when it fell, though I wasn't born yet. Thanks for visiting my part of the world and taking such beautiful photos of it. Great take on the theme this week.

One can never say enough about arches. Slick the way you fitted it into the theme. Poor tree looks like it's lost more than a branch.

I'll bet you could do a whole year of Photo Hunt posts using only photos from your trip to this place. It's so amazing!

I have enjoyed all of your posts about your travels to the National Parks in Utah. Such an amazing place! Great choice for the theme this week. Cool photos!

Your photos are stunning. I feel warmer just looking at them. Great shots for broken!

I'm late in visiting everyone for Photo Hunters, but better late than never! Have a wonderful week.

jmb:

Very photogenic spot so I don't blame you for using it more than once.

Great photos.

What beautiful photos! So artistically done.

I love how the broken tree contrasts with the rest of the photo. Every time I see your photos of Arches I can't believe how similar the landscape is like so much of Australia!

I love the tree in the first picture also. There are so many items the show the theme.

And definitely don't stop blogging about this area. It is so beautiful. These canyons and rocks show so much of the what is great about the West.
