I remember reading a post from a rental proprietor in the Lake Como area once. He was complaining about his rental guests just sitting around the pool enjoying themselves relaxing instead of running around touring the sites around Lake Como.
With a view like this from our hotel balcony why would one get in a car and drive around the narrow, winding roads. This is peace and relaxation at its best.
We did not take our car out once.
We spent part of one day on the ferries visiting the small villages that were in reach.
This is a place to come and relax. I am so glad we took five days and stayed in one place. It was the most enjoyable part of our trip.
