Rome Rental - Remember the Fiasco? It Was One Of My First Posts In Sept.

The link below takes you to a review of the Rental Company and someone else's experience with them:

http://rome-hotels.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187791-d275767-r10039232-Internazionale_Domus-Rome_Lazio.html

I have submitted a review of my experience with this rental property to Trip Advisor and to Slow Travel. I will post on the blog if these reviews get published.

After posting positive reviews in the past and recommending this place to other travelers in the past, I felt I had to alert others to this manager's bad business practices.

As a returning guest I was just mortified to find that upon my arrival in Rome someone else was occupying the rental that I had the Confirmation Contract for.

Kim:

Bummed to read this. Question though, are these apartments (with private kitchen for your use) or suites (no kitchen) as that's what we use to differentiate between hotels and vacation rentals?

Kim, there are kitchenettes in a cabinette. They have a sink, stovetop (no oven) in the suites, but in the apartment there was an oven and a dishwasher and full refrig. The suites have a mini size refrig. So this fits into the vacation rental category and not hotel, I guess. So the review I did for ST - I put under hotel review by error? I understand if it is not published. I had several people tell me not to let this pass without posting something about it, because I was recommending it from my last visit which was just the opposite from this experience. Unfortunately, the parents are not involved in the rental business and the son is handling the management now.

Kim:

No - don't worry about publishing it - I'll send a note to Colleen and we'll see about moving it. I think you should publish, especially because of your positive experience the first time. To me, the negative experience has so much more credence then b/c 1) it shows you weren't biased 2) you wanted to give them every benefit of the doubt because you had such a good first experience.

Kim,
Absolutely.
Thanks,
Chiaro
