We Stopped Our Ferry Ride to Have Lunch in Mennagio

IMG_1839.JPG

Mennagio was a pretty little town with the meanest Ferry Woman you've ever met. She yelled at the the British couple in front of me and then gave me the same treatment.

I explained to her that this was my first time EVER taking the ferries on Lake Como. With her help we ended up on the wrong one...went to Varrena and then had to change to the Bellagio ferry, after all.

sandrac:

Yikes -- the Ferry Woman sounds extraordinarily mean! Still, your photos of Mennagio and from Lake Como as well as Bellagio are really lovely.

I don't know this part of Italy at all, but now I'd really love to see it.

Hi sandrac,
Yes, after I told the ferry woman this was my first experience taking a ferry here, she looked ashamed of herself. But still we ended up on the wrong ferry. We should have waited another 5 minutes for the right one.

We found Bellagio and Lake Como area very relaxing after walking & climbing stairs in Rome, Siena and some of the other Tuscan & Umbrian hilltowns.
We were lucky to find free parking in Bellagio, as we didn't take the car out, as we had planned to do.
I am glad we went there.
