The topic of the day is RED - because today is the day for Women's Heart Disease Awareness. I will therefore post a beautiful photo of La Rossa - one of Bologna's nicknames. I will always remember the beautiful reds of the city that I called home for a year.

I didn't know that Bologna was nicknamed La Rossa.

Angie, la rossa is one of many nicknames, along with la dotta, la grassa, la turrita. I always loved the reds and oranges of Bologna, quite a contrast to the lighter colors of Florence, for instance.
