Streymoy and Sandoy

2 days of wonders. These islands are almost unbelievably beautiful and the bird life is fantastic.
Yesterday our friend, Judith, took us to the north part of Streymoy, first to the delectable little village of Tjornuvic and then to Saksun where there is a sort of salt water round lagoon with a passage to the sea between steep high cliffs. Again there was an old farmstead, part inhabited and part open to the public as a museum.
Today we crossed by car ferry to a relatively small and gentler island, Sandoy. Having crossed the island to Sandur, we took a VERY unclassified road west to a bay, where we had superb views of the Western islands and then beyond Sandur to get equally good views of the southern islands of Skugvoy, Stora Dimun, Litla Dimun and Suduroy.
