Susie's Smile

The last time all of Susie's family and friends were together it was to say goodbye to her physical body.

On Saturday, we gathered again. This time to celebrate her daughter's wedding. Susie's physical body was no longer with us, but her spiritual body most assuredly was.

That beautiful smile beamed from her photo next to the alter.

And we saw it again that night on her daughter's face as she danced with her Dad.

It was a wonderful evening full of love and celebration, and not a moment of sadness. Just the way Susie wanted it to be.

Barb Cabot:

Deborah, this post gave me chills and made my heart stop for a moment. What a lovely bride. I'm sure you see her mom in her smile.

Deborah responds: Yes, Barb. She is very much like her mom. Not just in smile but in personality, too.

Brad'll Do It:

Wow! What a poignant post, and it's just damn terrific that the "inclusion" of Susie in her daughter's wedding was purely positive.

Deborah responds: Yes, Brad. It was 100% happy celebration. Exactly what Susie would have wanted.

I love how Susie's photo was placed next to the alter so that she was right there as part of the wedding. Her daughter looks radiant. I am so glad the wedding was full of love and celebration just as Susie had wanted it.
