We learned yesterday that a friend lost his sibling in the earthquake.

It's not a distant, abstract disaster any longer.

Oh Deborah, I am so sorry to hear that.

One of my dad's workers still couldn't locate his brothers as of yesterday.

Your friend is in my prayers.

This earthquake has to be one of the worst in a long time. So much devastation. You are right...so very sad.

The Haiti earthquake is such a tragedy for so many people.

My prayers to all of those affected.

Ah Deborah, so sorry to hear this. My prayers are with you and your friend. This tragedy seems to have touched so many in far flung places. Friends of mine knew one of the Cdn RCMP officers who was killed in the earthquake. Definitely a time for holding each other in arms and hearts.
