Old Shoes - New Trip

We had a great time at Colleen's last night. Lots of good food and great talk.
Marian and I stayed at a local hotel in San Jose and after a lazy sleeping-in morning we are headed to Paso.

As we arrived in Paso, we stopped for supplies. Mostly water. Then we met Shannon at the cottage. Everyone staying at the cottage settled in and began to prepare for about 25 of the group to arrive for the first night of festivities.

The Mac & Cheese smack down was a blast. All four versions were delicious in different ways. But my favorite was David's Duck Fat Fried Mac & Cheese Squares. YUMMMMMYYYYY!

Later that evening, we played blackjack. On the last hand, I got a pair of aces. So I split. Then got blackjack on BOTH hands! Shannon was after me, and got a blackjack as well. We broke the bank. Too bad we weren't playing for real money.

The trolley ride to our various stops was great fun. Our driver, Charlie did a great job. We had a leisurely day tasting and buying.
Then we came back to the cottage for another evening of visiting. This time with twice as many of us. About 50.
We ate, drank wine, drank liqueurs, played blackjack.
Colleen gave out prizes. I won for planning the most exotic trip for the coming year.

Yesterday about 24 of us meet at Artisan for brunch. Then most everyone headed back to their everyday lives. Some of us stayed for one extra night, and spent the afternoon with Kim and Chris (a rabid Giants fan) watching the Superbowl game.
I've never watched an entire football game in my life. I don't like football. But that was one fun game to watch.
Probably because Chris was so much fun to watch it with.

So, can you tell that I've been cheating on my entries? I didn't have a chance to post because I was away from my computer during SlowBowl.
Then when I got home, the power was out. Dan said it had been out for more than 14 hours. It didn't come back on until 2AM.
So, even though this entry says Feb. 6th, I'm really posting it on Feb. 8th.
Tomorrow's entry will explain why I didn't post it until today as well.
I will post a real-time entry for the 8th, which is really today, even though the date on today's entry says the 6th....following me?
