This week my school celebrated teacher appreciation week. The PTA celebrated and honored us all week. The theme was Mardi Gras.
A couple of weeks prior, each class painted a mural dedicated to their teacher. Here is one done for me. Murals were put up all over the school's outside walls. (Ok, one for me looks like graffitti aka Kindergarten art!) Seriously, I am so pleased none were vandalized - these were up for over a week.
We feasted all week, beignets and crepes, etc. in the morning, jambalaya, gumbo, and mufalata sandwiches for lunch. I have no idea why I do not have food pictures. I must have been so busy eating... LOL
The children brought various teacher gifts everyday of the week. Monday - Flowers - which just about covered the top of my desk.
Tuesday - Books. My room Mom provided the book bag to hold the books the children brought. I must have mentioned sometime ago that I love Paris. :)
Wednesday - School Supplies - erasers, pencils, facial tissues... etc. all the incidentals that the school do not provide and usually come out of my own checkbook....
Thrusday - Pamper your teacher day. I had such an abundant loot! Gift cards, lotion, Victoria Secret stuff .. LOL... Kids! , candles, even some cash form one of the grandmothers! (She gives me gift cards every now and then ... she said just because.)
Friday - Fruit basket and a barbecue lunch with entertainment by staff members who think they are a boy band... :) From the left... a third grade teacher, school psychologist, school nurse, day custodian (back), and first grade teacher. MTV, watchout!
Assorted fruits... Geez, how can I finish all these before they go bad... Is there such a thing as too much love? :)
What more does a teacher want. She knows that she is loved by both children and parents! I am one lucky person.

Eden that is so sweet! How full is your heart right now?! (Maybe you could give some of your excess fruit to your neighbourhood Mama!)

WOW! What an incredible week you had.You must certainly feel very appreciated, and rightly so! We had muffins and juice one morning and a sweet notes of encouragement and appreciation daily in our mailbox. I guess that's the difference with working on a military base with poor parents. Oh well, I wouldn't change it for the world. I had 3 students' fathers return safely from Iraq this week. That was a good week!

Eden, I'm sure your students love you very much and so do their parents. What a great theme and so many thoughtful presents. Teachers like yourself should be honored. Yours is a very important job!
