Slowly but surely, some nice places are coming to Fremont. Last night my daughter and I went to find the new wine bar in Fremont. And we were gald to find it!
Vida Y Vino Wine Bistro. It is probably the only wine bar and bistro in the area; so what a welcome spot! It is a small place and I found it a bit awkward as we entered. But that changed right away as we were met and welcomed by one of the two staff members who worked there. We also walked in to a lone musician playing "Teach your Children" - that Crosby, Nash, Stills, and Young oldie.
The lady who met us introduced us to their menu and selections. I went for the "Red, White, and Blu" flight... they were celebrating July with the R,W, &B... she gave us the 'Ok, it is kind of a hokey name, but' ... look. I liked my selection, well except for the blush. I am not a big blush or rose fan. My daughter made a comment that she only has had glasses of rose with lunch in Paris because she said it just seems so right there. :)

We were hungry so we ordered food to go with our wine selections. My daughter had the Taste of Italy crepes. The other lady who was working there last night brought out our food. She was so bubbly and friendly! It turned out that she is the daughter of the neighbor across the street. She recognized us that why she seemed so overly friendly. I recognized her after a while. My, how fast these children grow! Good to see her again.
Here is my daughter's crepe. She said it was ok but too much pepperoni for her taste. Oh, her glass of wine is in the pic....
I went for the turkey panini... hold the bleu cheese... (I can't have cheese anymore)... not even sure if they really skipped the cheese because the panini was delicious and gooey... Yummm, so what's a little cheese, right?
Our bill came and we were informed that the neighbor's daughter comped our wine! Turning out to be a great day even more!
There is a spa next door, so my daughter suggested that we have a Spa and Wine Bar Day soon... What a great plan!
