I wish I were just driving Miss Daisy.... I am enjoying a visit with a high school friend and her daughter - both school teachers in Southern California. Gloria and her daughter are visiting and staying with me this week. Here they are in front of Bird Rock on the 17 Mile Drive in Carmel area.
It just so happens that there are a few of my high school classmates (from Cebu, Philippines) who now reside in the Bay Area. So those who are here decided to join in the fun and do tourist stuff with me and my guests. Six others - plus the three of us hit the road and I was the designated driver. With all these passengers, I needed a big vehicle, so off I went and rented a mega multi passenger van. YIKES, it was long! It was huge! "How am I ever going to park this mostrousity?" was what went through my mind when I saw it.
Deborah (from SlowTravel) asked if I had a picture of me "manning" the bus. I do not, so I have a picture here of what it looked like.

After Deborah asked, I went to look for a picture of the vehicle. What does one do when she wants to look for something? One googles, of course. Good thing that I did not do that prior to my driving. I read that there are many incidents of this type of van rolling over with the manufacturer settling the cases.
I was plenty nervous as it was. I would have been a basket case had I read about the rollovers prior to this weekend!!! Pheww.

Wowie, that is one huge machine, isn't it?! How impressive that you got behind the wheel! Sounds like a great time with your friends. I am close with one of my high school friends too, I think it is so cool to have held on to a friendship for so many years.
