My surfer son and the Brothers From Another Mother

Every summer for the past 6 years, my youngest son and 15 or so friends head down the coast for a week of endless surfing. Today was the day that they start that surfing trip. This is their 7th year. These surfing kids call themselves Brothers From Another Mother... Their trip they call Endless Summer... Oh to be young...

Here are some of the kids as they get ready for the trip

A picture with a couple of the Moms. We threatened to go with them on next year's trip. Maybe we can have stickers made for our car that says "Mothers of those Brothers".

My son did all the stickers for the vehicle they rented... They told me, the stickers just come off.. Fun kids! Here is to sun and fun.

At least they are not going all the way to Mexico like they did in the past...I tell myself... They used to start in Pacifica here up north and surf their way down the state through San Diego... and beyond.

Off they went with a Pacific Beach Vacation Rental as the San Diego Destination...

Eden, I'm just catching up when I have time between outings with the kids. I love this post...the Brotherhood is so cool! I love the car signs. I'm enjoying your blog so much and your staycations are wonderful. They inspire me.

Anne:

"Brothers From Another Mother" - I love it!!! What a fantastic description, it really captures the closeness of this group of friends. Sounds like they have so much fun together. May it always be so!

Eden:

Barb and Anne,

Most of these boys have been friends since elementary school through high school. I am so glad they kept their connections all these years.

They do have fun together. I was their "Kool Aid mom" when I was a stay-at-home PTA mom so they are just like my own too. Now some of the girlfriends have to blend in with the group and some even have to learn how to surf! LOL.

Kim:

I think that's fabulous! Would love to learn how he did those stickers.

Eden:

Kim, he has some humungous machines connected to his computer in his room that he uses to make those stickers.

I got an idea... Maybe I can have him make a SlowBowl Wine Tasting 2009... I can arrive with that on my car... Hmmm...

Kim:

Eden, I love that idea!!!!!

How cool! I tried surfing but it was much to hard to just paddle out, never mind trying to catch a wave.
