Staycation in The Garden of ---

eden.JPG

My friend AnnieK gave this garden sign to me a few months ago. I thought I'd show it in its place and what surrounds it. My daughter thought it was cute when I got it... I hope the neighbors do not think I am really egotistical.. LOL

This weekend, the Staycation phase is spent very close to home - right outside my door ... I am liking this because it makes for a very convenient nap break!

Anyway, here are some of the things that co-exist with the sign... in the garden of -

One of my sons burried a seed of an avocado right after some guacamole, chips, and beer about five years ago... Perhaps too much beer. This is the second year we are getting some homegrown avocados... It shades the sign everyday...

Last spring, my kindergarten class planted some seeds and I had to have some sample to show them how to do it. I kept my samples. Here is one of them... the sunflower is now trying to bloom.

Another sample ... that grew up to be a struggling pumpkin

A reminder of the tropics

One of the survivors of my brown thumb. This apple tree has been putting up with me for years.

Someday when I retire, I will spend more time with these plants.. I wonder if they will wait.
