My daughter's high school friend, Jessica, came to visit for the weekend. They have known each other since junior high, I think.... high school for sure.
Jessica now works for USC, her alma mater, and lives in Santa Monica. Tracey is now working in the Bay Area but they sure maintained a good friendship.
When my daughter went to UC Santa Barbara, Jessica went to USC. One of them drove up or down to see each other when college time permitted. After graduation, they shared an apartment in Santa Monica and worked in L.A. area or somewhere in Orange County.
Jessica went to grad school in NY attending Columbia and Tracey came back to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley. Tracey went to visit Jess in NY. Anyway, this weekend, Jessica came back to visit the Bay Area from LA.
In the morning, I could hear them giggling like high school girls so I barged in to Tracey's room with a camera in hand and told them they will be starring on my blog.
Tracey is the one in red and Jess is the one with a huge smile. They will probably kill me when they see this published. :)

So funny, Eden! Your daughter's friend looks like she thinks the whole photo thing is a kick. Your daughter, however, looks like the smile is hiding a plan to smash the camera!

Eden, I love this post. Our children's friends throughout the various stages of their youth become a part of our lives as well as theirs. Lovely when friendships sustain all the years and changes.
Great post.

How fantastic, those beaming smiles say it all!! And how beautiful they both are, they should get this photo framed, it really is gorgeous. So cool that they have maintained this close connection. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story, Eden!

You are going to be in someone's bad books now . . . however the need to blog excuses it as far as I am concerned.

Deborah, my daughter agrees with you. She was shaking her head when I read her the comments.
Barb, I really like my kids' friends and they have been part of our lives, just like you said your kids' have been part of yours. We are lucky that our kids have good choices of friends.
Anne, I suggested the framing idea and she shook her head... I guess she is not buying that at this time. But maybe I will do it and give each one a framed copy. Great idea!
Jerry, my daughter AGREES with you! I am in her bad book for sure! And she is not even buying the blogging topic excuse, however desperate I seemed to be.

I don't get "bad book" from those smiles - I get that they love sharing with you, which is like Barb says above, a great joy that the BFF's of our children's lives are in ours even when they are grown up - we have going to weddings lately of those BFF's and feel such honor to be invited.
