February is one busy month in a Kindergarten classroom.
We celebrate many holidays: We start with Groundhog day. I, myself am not even too sure what the significance of this rodent is. :)
We had Chinese New Year.
Then comes February 12 - the birthday of Abraham Lincoln.

Then comes Valentines Day.
February 16 is this year's Presidents' Day.
February 22 is George Washington's birthday.
February is African American Month... Although, I think a month celebration is not enough to commemorate any ethnic group... it is better than not celebrating, I must admit...
Add my birthday in there. We cram so much information into a five-year old's information storage. I wonder if we confuse them sometimes with all this information overload.

Who would ever have thought that this short month would be so busy? We also have many family birthdays in addition to the more celebrated ones - my son, now my grandson and both my late father-in-law and father. Actually my father and Mr. Lincoln shared a birthday.

Eden, I have a great deal of respect for all teachers. But Kindergarten Teachers are really special. My kids (17 &20) still talk about, and occasionally visit, their Kindergarten teacher. She was/is amazing.

I love your Abe Lincoln winking at us! Is he our newest sex symbol?
