Moved to the country

I have been making the visits to the grandkids' new home a few miles away... about 60 miles away. They definitely moved away from the hustle and bustlle....

You can see for miles and miles... no high rise here -

You may be in the country ... when your neighbor's utility box is painted like a cow. :)

Or ... when you can find sheep two blocks away from your home

Yet, there is a very nice state-of - the- art country children's playground around the corner from their new home... complete with a rock climbing wall!

I hope they are and will be happy here because I am having a difficult time adjusting and thinking how far away they have relocated! I have to come to terms that life is not always all about me. :)

It looks like a wonderful place for kids to live. Hope you'll be able to visit a lot!

Marcia:

I feel it Eden, but even tho our new grandbaby is several hundred miles away, I then remember that his other grandparents live in Australia - just keep your gas tank full.

Barb Cabot:

Eden, It's still drivable so that's good. Looks very peaceful and nice. Hope they have a guest room. Driving home at night would be tough.

sheri:

Eden, I guess you will be putting a lot of miles on your car! It does look like a nice area for kids though.

From your photos, it looks like a great place to raise kids. How far away from you are they?

Eden:

Annie, I also think that the small town environment will be good for the kids. I try to visit as often as I can and they come down my way too at least once a week.

Marcia and Barb, I am thankful that it is drivable... and that the price of gas is not hovering at $4 a gallon like it used to...

Marcia, my daughter reminds me that I moved half way around the world when I complain about distance... :) So I can relate to the Australian grandparents... because my parents lived in the Philippines when my children were growing up. My dad only saw my kids when we went home to visit... My mom lived here half time and part of the time in the Phil.

Sheri and Candi, it is only about 60+ miles from my door... but I exagerrate and tell them that I go through two mountain ranges (hills, acutally :)). Still, you are right, I will be putting in the mileage on the car.

It looks like a great place to bring up kids!

I LOVE the country! I would always choose country living over being in a city.

60 miles is still a big difference from "really close by." Hopefully you get used to it soon! It does look like a great place to live, though!

Your visits will be all that more special. Cool playgound! It looks like a great place to grow up.
