The Letter E
Girasoli posted 10 Gs that she loves. She got the idea from Jill at Fizzy thoughts. This meme is going around a lot this month. I wanted to participate and tap on it when I need a blog topic. Today is a good day for this post... so here goes.
E – At first, I thought this would be easy as I should know lots of Es… It is my first initial afterall! But, as I started listing the items out, I stumbled and had to think and think for Es that I really like or love..
Well, here goes:
Ede – This is the name of my maternal grandmother who raised me. This one was easy. She came to mind right away… Mama Ede. Pretty close to my name, huh? But I was not named after her because her full name was Clotilde although everyone called her Ede. I loved her full name… I think I would have loved to have been named Clotilde, although I love my name too. (Am I rambling already???)
Ebony – Ok, black. If one looked at my closet black is the predominant color there, followed by red. But really there are many shades of black … so it is not that easy to choose which black to wear with another (black item) in the morning… plus which black shoes would go with the black outfit. It really can be a struggle sometimes! :)
Education - I am a self proclaimed education junkie. I work in education but I also love going to school myself… Maybe that can be due to student loans… Do you know that if you keep going to school you can defer payments of student loans!!! So why not?
Email – I am addicted to almost anything Electronic… I am not that technologically advanced yet I can spend time in front of the computer… and Enjoy myself doing so…Eccentric perhaps… Weird in common language fits too.
Eat – Anything edible you can say. I love to eat. You can tell just by looking at my size… I work "hard" at being this big … LOL… I did not get here by doing nothing… I love to eat, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Persian, Afghani, and of course, Filipino food. An occassional In 'n Out burger works too.
Elderly – I have a lot of respect for the elderly. Ok, I am there or entering that category. I love to hear their stories… I hope to gather stories and recipes from people older than I am when I go back to the Philippines one of these days. I think the Elderly are full of Elegance, some maybe Eccentric but all sources of Enjoyment. Won’t you just want to sip and relish the pleasure of Earl Grey with someone Elderly?
Ecology – I love the idea of relationships with everything and its environment… The Ecosystem is a marvelous field of study. In the spring, I actually introduce a unit on Ecosystems to my kindergarten students.
Ebb Tide - Ok there are two words there, but they really go together. I like when the tide ebbs because tidepools appear. I love Excursions to the beach and Exploration is such an Enjoyable way to Experience and take in nature’s Exhibits!
Erasers – What would we do without them? I can obliterate mistakes, although Electronically it just equals to backspace and delete. I am still glad we have them.
Evergreen – My ex once said that he had never met anyone so fanatical about Christmas. Back in the day when the children were little, I used to have evergreens all over the house, as I had themed Christmas trees. But evergreens are synonymous to life and to me it is also with expectations of the coming of spring which will give us Easter Candies, yeah chocolates!
I wish I had graphics or photos to go with these Es....
If you have not been hit by this meme yet and would like to participate, leave a comment and I will assign you a letter. After getting your letter, write about 10 things you love that begin with your assigned letter, and when people comment on your post, you assign them a letter, and so it goes and goes and goes...

I understand the name thing. My sister Susan was "named" for our grandmother Sarah. How so? Sarah loved the name Susan but somehow never named one of her own 4 daughters that. It makes sense in a way.
Nice list.

Great post, Eden. Do be sure to record the elderly relatives. My sister interviewed & recorded my great aunts many years ago. Now that they are gone, it is nice to hear their voices and their stories.

After seeing Anne's O's, Krista's A's and now your E's, I am thinking that the vowels were sometimes easier than consonants. Great job! Enjoyed reading your list.

Great list of "E"'s! I had a cat named Ebony, so that would have been my "E" start!
